I went to Sedona suddenly on a last-second invite, my first trip to the red rocks in almost a decade. I drove up as the sun set and remembered the twists and turns of the road the farther I went. No doubt there is a cool vibe in Sedona, but word has definitely gotten out because traffic clogs the roads on the weekends. I identified as a local for the weekend and cursed the cars when I got held up. But taking a few steps on any hike in the area quickly wipes away the egoism that comes with living in populated urban areas. Sedona refreshes the mind it seems, you just need to watch out for healers and mystics stealing your mojo through crystals and ley lines.
